PENINGKATAN KESADARAN DAN KAPASITAS MASYARAKAT DALAM PENANGGULANGAN RISIKO GEMPA BUMI DI KLATEN

Abstract
This article discusses increasing community awareness and capacity in managing earthquake risks in Klaten. Through a survey method conducted on respondents in the Klaten area, this research identifies the level of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of the community in facing the risk of earthquakes. Next, this article identifies factors that influence the level of community awareness and preparedness in facing these risks. The data collected was then analyzed to develop a strategy to increase community awareness and capacity in dealing with earthquake risks more effectively and sustainably in Klaten. Education and communication strategies are prepared based on the results of data analysis and implemented through programs aimed at certain groups in society. The results of the research show that education and communication strategies that focus on providing information related to earthquake characteristics in a clear and comprehensive manner, introducing earthquake-resistant building technology, as well as education regarding emergency response plans when an earthquake occurs, are able to increase people's knowledge, attitudes and behavior in dealing with earthquake risk.

Abstrak
Artikel ini membahas tentang peningkatan kesadaran dan kapasitas masyarakat dalam penanggulangan risiko gempa bumi di Klaten. Melalui metode survei yang dilakukan pada responden di wilayah Klaten, penelitian ini mengenali tingkat pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku masyarakat dalam menghadapi risiko gempa bumi. Selanjutnya, artikel ini mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat kesadaran dan kesiapan masyarakat dalam menghadapi risiko tersebut. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis untuk mengembangkan strategi peningkatan kesadaran dan kapasitas masyarakat dalam penanggulangan risiko gempa bumi yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan di Klaten. Strategi-strategi pendidikan dan komunikasi disusun berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan diterapkan melalui program-program yang ditujukan pada kelompok-kelompok tertentu dalam masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pendidikan dan komunikasi yang fokus pada pemberian informasi terkait karakteristik gempa bumi secara jelas dan komprehensif, pengenalan teknologi bangunan tahan gempa, serta edukasi terkait rencana tanggap darurat saat terjadi gempa bumi, mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku masyarakat dalam menghadapi risiko gempa bumi.
