Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah hubungan antara Tiongkok dan Barat dalam konteks kepentingan dagang, Perang Candu, dan penguasaan wilayah Tiongkok oleh Bangsa Asing. Hubungan antara Tiongkok dan Barat dibentuk oleh kepentingan ekonomi, perang candu, dan kendali luar negeri atas wilayah Tiongkok. Perang Candu adalah serangkaian konflik antara Tiongkok dan Inggris terkait perdagangan opium. Peperangan tersebut mengakibatkan penyerahan Hong Kong ke tangan Inggris dan pembukaan pelabuhan Tiongkok untuk perdagangan luar negeri.
