MEMBANGUN SUASANA YANG MENYENANGKAN DI LINGKUNGAN SD SWASTA AL WASLIYAH 15 MEDAN

Abstract
This study explores strategies for creating a pleasant learning environment at SD Swasta AL Wasliyah 15 Medan, a private elementary school in Medan, Indonesia. Using participatory action research methodology, the study identifies effective approaches to enhance the school atmosphere and analyzes their impact on student engagement and motivation. Key strategies include participatory classroom decoration, game-based learning, positive class routines, peer mentoring programs, and integration of arts and creativity. The research reveals significant improvements in student attendance, active participation, and intrinsic motivation, alongside a decrease in behavioral issues. Challenges such as resource limitations and resistance to change are discussed, along with supporting factors like supportive school leadership and community involvement. The study provides practical recommendations for educators and policymakers aiming to improve learning environments in Indonesian elementary schools, particularly those with limited resources.
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi strategi untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang menyenangkan di SD Swasta AL Wasliyah 15 Medan, sebuah sekolah dasar swasta di Medan, Indonesia. Menggunakan metodologi penelitian tindakan partisipatif, studi ini mengidentifikasi pendekatan efektif untuk meningkatkan suasana sekolah dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap keterlibatan dan motivasi siswa. Strategi utama meliputi dekorasi kelas partisipatif, pembelajaran berbasis permainan, rutinitas kelas positif, program mentor sebaya, dan integrasi seni dan kreativitas. Penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kehadiran siswa, partisipasi aktif, dan motivasi intrinsik, serta penurunan masalah perilaku. Tantangan seperti keterbatasan sumber daya dan resistensi terhadap perubahan dibahas, bersama dengan faktor pendukung seperti kepemimpinan sekolah yang suportif dan keterlibatan komunitas. Studi ini memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi pendidik dan pembuat kebijakan yang bertujuan meningkatkan lingkungan belajar di sekolah dasar Indonesia, khususnya yang memiliki sumber daya terbatas.
