PERAN KOMUNIKASI ANTARBUDAYA DALAM MENINGKATKAN TOLERANSI DI ERA GLOBALISASI: TANTANGAN DAN STRATEGI

Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas peran penting komunikasi antarbudaya dalam menumbuhkan sikap toleransi di masyarakat global yang semakin beragam. Tantangan utama dalam komunikasi antarbudaya mencakup prasangka yang terbentuk sebelumnya, etnosentrisme, esensialisme, dan hambatan linguistik, yang dapat menghalangi pemahaman dan interaksi yang efektif. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya strategi komunikasi yang inklusif untuk menjembatani kesenjangan budaya, mengurangi stereotip, serta mempromosikan kohesi sosial. Globalisasi semakin memperkuat kompleksitas komunikasi antarbudaya dengan menawarkan peluang untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan budaya sekaligus menimbulkan potensi ketegangan. Melalui pendekatan pendidikan yang berfokus pada kompetensi lintas budaya, dialog terbuka, serta strategi komunikasi yang responsif secara budaya, masyarakat dapat membangun lingkungan yang lebih toleran, inklusif, dan harmonis.
